Growth of mold are typically caused by water and elevated moisture. Common reasons are due to roof or pipe leak, flood, shower and/or bath steams and appliance or equipment breakdown (dishwasher, refrigerator, washing machine, HVAC system or hot water tank).
Common places to find mold are bathroom, closets, attics, basement and under the sink.
Our Mold Remediation Process
APPOINTMENT:
The first step is to set up an appointment with one of our Coordinators and they will answer any questions you have and set up an appointment with one of our certified mold inspector to collect date and samples from the compromised location. Or you can fill in our online contact form .
INSPECTION/ ASSESSMENT:
During our visit we will look into any visible signs of mold. This may include the use of moisture detector to determine the source of the moisture. This will allow the detection to determine if additional testing is needed. Additional testing means the technician need to collect air and surface samples to send to a third party laboratory testing facility.
LAB TESTING/REPORT: The lab will provide a report of what kind of mold(s) are present and how much. Lab Report takes 3 - 7 days. Following the testing and inspection we will submit a written mold remediation report and scope of work to properly eliminate the mold.
CONTAINMENT/FILTRATION/REMOVAL/CLEAN-UP
We first secure and install the work area to prevent the mold from spreading to other areas of your property. We will utilize HEPA filtration machines to clean the air; cut affected areas and sand/scrub/wire brushing.
We will remove the affected materials such as drywall, trims, baseboards and place them in plastic bags for disposal. We then will proceed to perform thorough sanding, wire brushing, and anti-microbial treatment. This stage also includes duct cleaning and installation of air scrubbers and dehumidifiers.
FINAL INSPECTION/REPORT
The final inspection stage includes post moisture test, removal of the air scrubber & dehumidifier. Depending on our initial agreement, we either issue our final report and invoice or proceed to reconstruction phase to restore your property back to normal. Depending on the reconstruction scope of work to do we may perform it ourselves or refer you to one of partnering contractors. In case of an issue we will address it in a timely manner.
